Poetry is another great way of writing. The thing is that many of us think that poetry has to rhyme - which isn't always the case at all.

As a young adult, I was put off writing poems simply because my poems either didn't rhyme or were "too repetitive" (as claimed by my mum). One thing that I love about poetry is that you get to write entirely for you and though the poem might be about something deeply personal, chances are good that others will be able to relate to it as well.

I didn't really get back into poetry until a few years ago because I felt that whatever I wrote wouldn't really be any good anyway.

For the most part, I try not to get too personal when writing poetry - however, there have been times when it's been what I needed to do in order to move on in my life in a more healthy fashion. I did choose to share these poems in select places online and I had people relate to them on many levels even though I was dealing with events ant circumstances from my younger life that were holding me back as an adult.
